The International Conferences of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement bring together the States parties to the Geneva Conventions and the various components of the International Movement of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent, i.e., National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). An International Conference takes place every four years. Through the Conference, States parties to the Geneva Conventions, together with other partners in humanitarian action, undertake joint commitments with the Movement to advance humanitarian action.
