Julia Grignon is an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Law at Laval University and a co-director of the Clinic of international criminal and humanitarian law, as well as a co-founder of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research on Africa and the Middle East.
Prior to joining Laval University, Julia Grignon was research assistant at the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva and she is doctor in Law by the same institution.
She is the author of the book L’applicabilité temporelle du droit international humanitaire and she edited the book Tribute to Jean Pictet. She is currently conducting an individual research project about the extraterritorial application of IHRL in context of external military operations and she holds a partnership project related to the strengthening and promotion of IHL. Julia Grignon has been a committee member of the Jean-Pictet Competition from 2008 and a member of the scientific board of the Institut de Recherche Stratégique de l'École militaire (France) and of the Quebequian Society of International Law.
